Adara was an Algar girl and Garion's cousin. When they first met she asked Garion to show her some sorcery. He complied by twisting some grass together and creating a new type of flower later known as Adara's Rose. She later asked him if magic could be used to make someone love her.
She accompanied Garion and his companions to the caves of Ulgo. When Ce'Nedra saw her she beleived that Garion had met and fallen in love with another girl. It was this incident that lead to Ce'Nedra admitting she loved Garion.
Adara was wounded by a Murgo arrow shortly before the Battle of Thull Mardu. While recovering she beleived she was dying, and confronted Hettar with her feelings of love. She was most embarassed when she was told she would recover just fine. She later married Hettar and had several children.
