Drasnian Intelligence was the world's most extensive national spy network, rivalling that of Brador's Secret Police in Mallorea, and also that of Tolnedra. The head/Chief of the Drasnian Intelligence during the time of Garion was a man named Javelin.
When Rhodar was alive, all reports were sent through him as well as Queen Porenn. When Rhodar was on the war campaign as well as upon Rhodar's death, all Drasnian intelligence went through Queen Porenn. Porenn revealed that the intelligence was very extensive, that there was nowhere that a person that she wanted could hide.
In Belgarath the Sorceror, Belgarath revealed that the Drasnian intelligence service had been established not long after the Alorn expedition into Nyissa (following the assassination of King Gorek and most of the Rivan family in 4002), and that it relied heavily on merchants.
The most secret spy of the Drasnian Intelligence was codenamed "Hunter," and only Javelin or the Chief of Drasnian Intelligence knew his or her identity. Hunter was assigned on their highest priority mission, often the most top-secret and sensitive mission, one that the Drasnian crown in which could not openly become involved. We know of two such people who had the task of being Hunter, Bethra and Liselle. Hunter in the past could have been even Angaraks.
